PROGRAMME: Version of the Piper PA-14 Family Cruiser. Plans and material kits available. Conforms to FAA 51 per cent rule.

CUSTOMERS: 1,971 sets of plans and kits sold by May 2001.

COSTS: Plans: US$89; kit US$18,000 (2003).

DESIGN FEATURES: True four-seater, with option of hinged rear fuselage decking to provide access to baggage and rear seat areas. Conventional, high-wing configuration with V-type bracing struts, wire-braced empennage, mid-mounted tailplane and classic fin and rudder.

FLYING CONTROLS: Conventional and manual. Horn-balanced rudder. Upper and lower spoilers; trim tabs on both elevators. Aileron limits ±17°; elevator limits 34° up, 29° down.

STRUCTURE: Similar construction to Wag-A-Bond, with glass fibre wingtips. Alternatively, drawings and materials provided to modify standard PA-12, PA-14 or PA-18 wings. Prewelded fuselage structure also available.

LANDING GEAR: As Wag; main units use 8.00-6 or 7.00-6 tyres. Optional floats.

POWER PLANT: Engine of 93 to 149 kW (125 to 200 hp). Usable fuel capacity 148 litres (39.0 US gallons; 32.5 Imp gallons).

ACCOMMODATION: Four persons; two separate front seats, plus rear bench seat which is removable for stretcher or cargo carrying. Baggage area to rear of bench seat. Forward-opening cabin door on each side.
