VARIANTS: LA-250 Renegade: Standard version, as described in detail.
Turbo 270 Renegade: Turbocharged version with 186 kW (250 hp) Textron Lycoming TIO-540-AA1AD. Set world altitude record of 7,465 m (24,500 ft) for small amphibians August 1983.
Special Edition Seafury: Renegade with salt water operating package including lifting rings, stainless steel brake discs, custom interior and survival package. Available from Summer 1990.

CUSTOMERS: Total of 23 Renegades delivered during 1989.

DESIGN FEATURES: Generally as for LA4-200, but fuselage lengthened 1.05 m (3 ft 5 in); deeper V hull bottom and additional strakes.

FLYING CONTROLS: As for LA4-200.

LANDING GEAR: As for LA4-200, except wheelbase increased by 0.43 m (1 ft 5 in), and oleo extension increased to provide greater ground clearance.

POWER PLANT: One 186 kW (250 hp) Textron Lycoming IO-540-C4B5 flat-six engine in Renegade and Seafury, driving a Hartzell three-blade constant-speed Q-tip metal pusher propeller. Turbocharged TIO-540-AA1AD engine in Turbo Renegade. Standard usable fuel capacity 204 litres (54 US gallons; 45 Imp gallons); optional usable capacity of 340 litres (90 US gallons; 75 Imp gallons).

ACCOMMODATION: As for LA4-200, but lengthened cabin provides seating for a pilot and five passengers, with increased baggage capacity. Gull wing cargo door standard.
