SINO SWEARINGEN AIRCRAFT COMPANY
Ed Swearingen is well known for designing Fairchild Merlin and Metro commuter and business aircraft, and for engineering such aircraft as Piper Twin Comanche and Lockheed JetStar II. Current projects is SJ30-2 business jet.
Swearingen Aircraft Corp. re-formed on 1 April 1995 as joint venture company with Sino Aerospace of Taiwan, which provides financial support; will certify and produce SJ30-2 at new 8,130 m² (87,500 sq ft) facility at Martinsburg, West Virginia, where the workforce totalled 85 in September 2002, and is expected to rise to about 350 by 2006. San Antonio workforce stood at 400 in late 2002.
