Douglas test pilot William J. Morrisey built Model 1000 Nifty tandem trainer (1948) for homebuilders, but formed Morrisey Aircraft Co. at Long Beach 1949. Reorganized 1952 at Long Beach as Morrisey Aviation Inc., began series production 1958 of Morrisey 2150. Rights passed to Shinn Engineering, in same plant, through 1964, and then to Varga Aircraft Corp., Chandler, AZ, which produced 2150A Kachina all-metal version until 1985. Bill Morrisey at Las Vegas built Bravo single-seater (30 June 1981), plans marketed.
