Hughes Helicopters purchased by MDC and became wholly-owned subsidiary 6 January 1984. Company progressively moved from Culver City to Mesa, AZ, starting with AH-64 Apache production and following with MD 500/530 production 1986-7. Company name changed to McDonnell Douglas Helicopter Corp. (MDHC) 27 August 1985.
