LONGREN

Little-known, had one of longest careers in US industry, Longren Aircraft Inc. registered Topeka, Kansas, 1920. Sport biplane (1921) had vulcanized moulded-fibre fuselage and folding wings. Three experimental aircraft for US Navy (1923) had fuselages with parts stamped from compressed fibre sheets. Firm liquidated 1924, resurrected 1933 to build monocoque metal fuselage made in same way, 1 ordered by US Army. Liquidated a second time 1959.
