FLIGHTSTAR SPORTSPLANES
Pioneer International formed as a division of Pioneer Parachute Company in 1981 to produce the initial Flightstar; design was sold to Pampa's Bull of Argentina as the Aviastar I when Pioneer closed in 1985. Pioneer Flightstar (later Flightstar) formed in 1992 initially to import the Aviastar design, and has since developed it into the current range of ultralights. Production of the kits is done under contract by Leza Lockwood. The initial Flightstar Classic is no longer available.
In August 2003, the company employed 12 people; its Sebring production facility covered 4,180 m² (45,000 sq ft).
