CENTRAL STATES

Central States Aero Co. Inc. formed Davenport, Iowa, January 1927, to produce Monocoupe small side-by-side cabin monoplane designed by Don A. Luscombe. Trickle-built with 60-hp Air Cat 5-cylinder engine, a few with Cirrus, Siemens and Anzani. Failed 1928, restructured at Bettendorf, Iowa, as Central States Aircraft Co. Again failed 1930, despite much better sales due to 55-hp Velie engine, becoming Mono Aircraft.
