Cavalier Aircraft Corp. succeeded Trans-Florida 1967, taking over same business and facilities. Developed P-51 Mustang into Cavalier 2000 2-seater with tip tanks. Under USAF contract built F-51D Mustangs for MAP nations, using existing or new parts and with updated armament/avionics. In 1967 Mustang II counter-insurgency aircraft (more power, higher weights) led to Turbo Mustang III, first Dart then T55 engine. This bought by Piper as Enforcer.
