Ames Industrial Corp. of Bohemia, NY, held US licence for French Microturbo small turbojets, and was awarded contract by NASA to build AD-1 (Ames/Dryden) slew-wing research aircraft (2 TRS 18-046 turbojets), first flown December 1979.
