MAI-217B: (Boyevoy: combat) Proposed military version with cockpit armour and provision for up to 200 kg (441 lb) of light weapons.
DESIGN FEATURES: Designed to JAR-VLA criteria principally for agricultural applications. Side-by-side lightplane with strut-braced, mid-positioned, constant-chord wing. Uses some Aviatika-MAI-910 components. Also suitable for training and surveillance. Wings foldable for storage in 5 minutes. Convertible to tailwheel configuration by two persons in under 2 hours.
POWER PLANT: One 73.5 kW (98.6 hp) Rotax 912 ULS flat-four driving a two-blade, fixed-pitch propeller.
EQUIPMENT: Optional 200 litre (52.8 US gallon; 44.0 Imp gallon) chemical tank and spraybar.
ARMAMENT: Optional light bombs and rocket pods.
