TYPE: Two-seat lightplane.
PROGRAMME: At 2005 Moscow Salon, Griffon Aero displayed a light aircraft closely resembling the Zenith STOL CH 701, available in two fuselage lengths and with a variety of engine options.
CURRENT VERSIONS: Griffon 100: Shorter fuselage and heavy duty, cantilever landing gear. Standard 52.2 kW (70 hp) Subaru EA-71 water-cooled flat-four engine; options include 59.0 kW (79 hp) Hirth F30K, 61.0 kW (82 hp) F30E, 68.6 kW (92 hp) F30U, 75.0 kW (101 hp) F30ES; 59.6 (79.9 hp) Rotax 912 UL, 73.5 kW (98.6 hp) Rotax 912 ULS; 59.7 (80 hp) Jabiru 2200 and 89 kW (120 hp) Jabiru 3300. By 2006, this no longer appeared to be available.
Griffon 100M: Longer fuselage and twin-oleo, strut-braced landing gear each side. Increased empty and max T-O weights. Standard 112 kW (150 hp) Subaru EJ-25; optional 97.0 kW (130 hp) LOM M132, 124 kW (166 hp) M332CE, Jabiru 3300 or 149 kW (200 hp) Jabiru 6000.
DESIGN FEATURES: Generally as Zenair STOL CH 701, except increased wing span and area.
POWER PLANT: As under Current Versions. Fuel capacity 80 litres (21.1 US gallons; 17.6 Imp gallons) standard; optionally, 100M only, 160 litres (42.2 US gallons; 35.2 Imp gallons).
