K.K. Watanabe Tekkosho (Watanabe Ironworks Co. Ltd) built aircraft parts from 1926 and complete aircraft, designed by others, from 1931. Major contribution to A5M, E14Y, K9W/Ki-86 and K10W. Own designs E9W submarine-based recon seaplane, WS-103S recon seaplane, and K6W and K8W trainer seaplanes. Designed K11W crew trainer and Q1W Tokai ASW aircraft but, before these were in full production, changed name to Kyushu Hikoki KK early 1943.
