NAMC

Nihon Aeroplane Manufacturing Co. Ltd, English form of Nihon Kokuki Seizo KK, formed to manage short-range turboprop airline project agreed by Ministry of International Trade and Industry 1956. Six partners began design 1957: Mitsubishi (leader), Kawasaki, Fuji, Shin Meiwa, JAMC (Nihon Hikoki) and Showa. YSKK or TADA (Transport Aircraft Development Assoc.) formed May 1957, which in June 1959 was replaced by NAMC. Resulting YS-11 flew 30 August 1962.
