Imperial Navy 11th Arsenal at Hiro studied imported Felixstowe F.5 and built 60 under licence 1923-6, later designated H1H. Navy Type 89 (later H2H) was improved version, 17 built 1929-30. Rohrbach influenced Type 90 (H3H) 3-engined monoplane flying-boat, prototype only, and improved Type 91 (H4H) with 2 x 800-hp engines, of which 47 built 1932-4. Type 95 (G2H) landplane heavy bomber plagued by structure and 1,180-hp W-18 engines, only 6 built by Hiro 1933-5 plus 2 by Mitsubishi, whose G3M took over.
