DESIGN FEATURES: Objectives included better performance than existing STOL light aircraft, but without sacrifice of cruising speed; effective and harmonised control; foldable wings.
High wings with V-struts; sweptback fin. Delivered as 85 per cent complete quick-build kit, less engine, propeller and instruments; quoted build time 200 hours.
FLYING CONTROLS: Conventional and manual. Large, cable-actuated control surfaces for effectiveness of response at slow speeds; 'spade' -type suspended aileron balance tabs. Flaps. Handley Page slats on wing leading-edge.
STRUCTURE: Generally of heat-thread and corrosion-proofed aluminium alloy; skins bonded before riveting. Welded tubular steel frame cockpit structure; steel alloy wing struts. Control surfaces covered in Dacron fabric. Wing leading-edge slats of carbon fibre. Composites tips to wing and empennage. Lexan windscreen; polycarbonate side windows.
LANDING GEAR: Tricycle type; fixed. Optional speed fairings. Steerable, telescoping nosewheel leg; cantilever mainwheel legs. Hydraulic disc brakes. Optional amphibious floats.
POWER PLANT: Choice of 59.6 kW (79.9 hp) Rotax 912 UL, 73.5 kW (98.6 hp) Rotax 912 ULS or 84.5 kW (113.3 hp) turbocharged Rotax 914 UL. Fuel in wing tanks and header tank, total capacity 87 litres (23.0 US gallons; 19.1 Imp gallons). GT two-blade wooden propeller.
EQUIPMENT: Optional glider towing hook and ventral baggage pod.
