Samanta aircraft service company purchased by Carlo de Feo in 1997; Samanta renamed as VulcanAir in April 1998 when it purchased bankrupt Partenavia company. VulcanAir returned P.68 series to production in 1999 and continues to supply spares for Partenavia aircraft. Acquired rights to SF.600 Canguro from SIAI-Marchetti on latter's incorporation into Aermacchi in 1997. In June 1999, VulcanAir announced development of the VA 300 twin-diesel-engined light transport derivative of the P.68 and single-engined VF 600W Mission, the latter a new aircraft with some commonality with the SF.600A and P.68 series.
