SAML

Società Aeronautica Meccanica Lombarda, large firm of military contractors with factories in Milan area (notably Monza), decided to build aircraft 1913, principal early product being Aviatik B.I built under licence, SAML building 410 of 568 constructed in Italy. Their designer, Swiss Robert Wild, came to Italy and designed SAML S.1 (October 1916) and derived S.2 recon-bombers, of which 657 were built. No post-war activity.
