Formed as Fratelli Nardi (Nardi Brothers) at Milan 1933 by Elio, Euste, Elto and Luigi Nardi to produce FN.305 advanced trainer (19 February 1935). Initial production handled by Piaggio until Nardi factory on Linate airport completed and company reorganized as Nardi SA Per Costruzioni Aeronautiche. About 505 FN.305 built excluding 122 in Romania. Other trainers and tourers followed, notably FN.310, 315 and 316. Branch factory at Loreto destroyed, but Milan rebuilt post-war and FN.333 3-seat (later 4-seat) pusher amphibian designed (4 December 1952). Definitive production FN.333 all made under licence by SIAI-Marchetti. Surviving brother Dott. Elto Nardi established BredaNardi 1971.
