Hellenic Aerospace Industry was formed November 1975, owned 87% by Government and 13% by Hellenic Industrial Development Bank; to be privatised 1993. Works at Schimatari comprise Aircraft, Engine, Electronics and Manufacturing divisions. Main activities include Atar/M53 engines, F-16 rear fuselage, A300 door frames and support of Mirage and C-130.
