In 1916 Austin Motor Co. produced prototype Austin-Ball fighter. In 1917 set up aircraft design department. Two major products, both flown during war: AFT.3 Osprey triplane fighter, and Greyhound 2-seat biplane fighter, both excellent aircraft. In 1919 3 Whippet sporting single-seaters, concluding 1920 with 160 hp 2-seat Kestrel.
