PAYEN

Around 1930 Roland Payen conceived futuristic configuration comprising forward wing with ailerons and flaps and rear 67° delta wing with elevators and flaps. PA 100 (380-hp GR 7Kdr, 1933) flew well until heavy landing at Istres. PA 22 (180-hp Regnier) was tested in Chalais-Meudon tunnel, flew at Villacoublay October 1942 but destroyed in air raid. PA 112, tandem engines, not built, nor various Fléchair fighter designs, but after war Payen produced Pa 49 baby jet (22 January 1954), series of Pa 61 Arbalète pushers and various projects.
