MUREAUX

Les Ateliers des Mureaux formed at Les Mureaux 1918 to build landplanes and seaplanes, initially with few original designs; obtained licence for Vimy Commercial 1922, followed by Bre.XIVA2 and in 1926 Wibault monoplanes. M. Brunet designed Mureaux 3C2 (Hispano engine) and 4C2 (Salmson) 2-seat fighter/recon monoplane, which formed basis for staple products to 1940. In 1928 took over assets of Besson, building MB.35 shipboard seaplane. In 1930 amalgamated with railway firm Ateliers de Construction du Nord de la France, combined firm becoming Les Ateliers de Constructions du Nord de la France et des Mureaux, or ANF Les Mureaux. MB.35 developed into MB.411, and 3C2/4C2 into Mureaux 113, 115 and 117, all in major Armée de l’Air front-line service in 1939. Firm was nationalized into SNCAN 1 March 1937.
