TYPE: Side-by-side ultralight.

PROGRAMME: Developed from basic design of Canelas Ranger, produced in 1983 by Martin Uhia Lima and manufactured in small numbers. Prototype was flying-boat; second was landplane. Following formation of Colyaer company, third prototype built and design information computerised for production.

CURRENT VERSIONS: M3-S100: Motor glider; greater wing area.
M3-S110: Shorter span; higher cruising speed.
Mascato: Amphibian; described separately.

DESIGN FEATURES: Intended to provide side-by-side seating for two, good outward visibility, spacious cockpit, 108 kt (200 km/h; 124 mph) cruising speed, Ultralight or JAR-VLA compatibility, range of 809 n miles (1,500 km; 932 miles), composites construction and competitive price.
High wing, without bracing struts, mounted on pod-and-boom fuselage, with T tail. Engine and pusher propeller mounted behind cockpit.
Wing section NACA 643-618.

FLYING CONTROLS: Conventional and manual. Electrically operated flaps, max deflections -7° for long-distance cruises; +50° for short landing.

STRUCTURE: Composites throughout. Carbon and glass fibre cantilever mainwheel legs; Kevlar, Nomex and epoxy resins.

LANDING GEAR: Tricycle type; fixed.

POWER PLANT: Suitable engines between 45 and 75 kW (60 and 100 hp). Standard fuel capacity 40 litres (10.6 US gallons; 8.8 Imp gallons). Two optional tanks increase capacity to 90 litres (23.8 US gallons; 19.8 Imp gallons) or 130 litres (34.3 US gallons; 28.6 Imp gallons).
