TYPE: Side-by-side ultralight.

PROGRAMME: Remos revealed artist's impression of its new G-4 high-performance, mid-wing ultralight at Aero '01, Friedrichshafen, in April 2001. The tricycle-gear aircraft, which is generally based on the existing G-3 Mirage, but with repositioned wings and tailplane, will have a 9.00 m (29 ft 6¼ in) wing span, be 6.50 m (21 ft 4 in) long and have an empty weight of 290 kg (639 lb). Fitted with a 73.5 kW (98.6 hp) Rotax 912 ULS, planned cruising speed is 126 kt (233 km/h; 145 mph) with a never-exceed speed (VNE) of 154 kt (285 km/h; 177 mph) and maximum sea level rate of climb of 395 m (1,300 ft)/min. By early 2002, Remos was predicting a maiden flight in November of that year but by April 2003 development had been halted pending September 2003 decision on possible microlight weight category revisions, after which G-4 will be relaunched.
