PROGRAMME: Mecklenburger launched production of current version in late 2003, following construction of some five of earlier (Bek) series, including c/n 007 with Rotax 912 UL flat-four of 59.6 kW (79.9 hp).
CURRENT VERSIONS: Ultralight: MTOW limited to 300 kg (661 lb).
Experimental: Short-span, increased weight version.
COSTS: Ultralight: Basic kit (minus engine and instruments) €19,900; part complete €27,850; flyaway €41,200 (with Rotax 582) or €42,350 (with Mikron IIIB).
Experimental: Kit €21,350 (all 2003).
DESIGN FEATURES: Approximately three-quarters scale replica of Messerschmitt Bf 109. Low, tapered wing; strut-braced tailplane.
FLYING CONTROLS: Conventional and manual. Horn-balanced rudder.
STRUCTURE: Generally of composites.
POWER PLANT: One piston engine. Options include 48.0 kW (64.4 hp) Rotax 582 and 55.0 kW (70 hp) Parma-Technik Mikron IIIB for Ultralight and 59.7 kW (80 hp) Subaru EA-71 for Experimental category. Fuel capacity 55 litres (14.5 US gallons; 12.1 Imp gallons).
LANDING GEAR: Tailwheel type; retractable mainwheels.
