TYPE: Two-seat lightplane; side-by-side ultralight.

PROGRAMME: Prototype (OK-JUU 21) flew 6 June 2004 and made debut at CIAF air show, Brno, 4 September 2004; also exhibited at Aero' 05, Friedrichshafen, in April 2005. Tests on a static airframe were undertaken in February and March 2005, prior to launch of series manufacture. On 19 October 2005 the prototype set a new FAI world speed record in class RAL2 (three-axis control microlights) of 143.0 kt (265 km/h; 164.7 mph). First fused landing gear example (OK-LUU 05) first flown April 2006.

DESIGN FEATURES: Aerodynamically efficient configuration in composites, with low, tapered wing and sweptback fin. Conforms to Czech UL-2 regulations for ultralights, or as lightplane to JAR-VLA, LSA, or equivalent.

FLYING CONTROLS: Conventional and manual. Split flaps. Flight-adjustable trim tab in starboard elevator. Aileron, flap and elevator activation by carbon-reinforced pushrods; rudder by cables; trim tabs by Bowden cable.

STRUCTURE: Fuselage of sandwich shell with transverse bulkheads; engine bolted to sandwich firewall. Carbon fibre engine cowlings; cockpit of hybrid carbon-Kevlar for additional strength; acrylic canopy; carbon sandwich rear fuselage. Hollow wing spars of carbon fibre; ribless wings with integral wingroot fuel tanks; individual wings connected by spar extensions pinned together, the whole attached to fuselage by two pins; ailerons and flaps attached to secondary spars. Empennage comprises tailplane and integral fin; tailplane construction and attachment as for wings.

LANDING GEAR: Tricycle type; retractable or fixed. Hydraulic retraction; all units retract rearwards; emergency hand-pump. Mainwheels 14x4 (4.00-6); nosewheel 12x4. Fuselage-mounted, spring GRP cantilever mainwheel legs; compressed rubber nosewheel shock-absorber. Hydraulic brakes. Wheel fairings on fixed gear version.

POWER PLANT: One Rotax flat-four piston engine; 59.6 kW (79.9 hp) 912 UL or 73.5 kW (98.6 hp) 912 ULS. Two-blade, fixed- or Woodcomp Kremen SR3000 variable-pitch (electric) propeller. Fuel in wingroot tanks; total capacity 90 litres (23.8 US gallons; 19.8 Imp gallons).

ACCOMMODATION: Two persons, side-by-side; baggage stowage to rear. Forward-hinged, single-piece canopy/windscreen; rear window each side.

SYSTEMS: Electrical system 12 V, with 14 Ah battery.
