PROGRAMME: Announced January 2006 when prototype believed already flying; LSA approval granted March 2006; public debut at Sun 'n' Fun, Lakeland, Florida, 4 to 10 April 2006 when US demonstrator (N595SC c/n 002) displayed flying and sixth aircraft statically.

COSTS: USD65,000 flyaway; kit USD32,000, excluding engine (2006).

DESIGN FEATURES: Optimised for US S-LSA criteria and as Experimental homebuilt. Low wing with unswept leading edge and sweptforward trailing edge; sweptback fin with small fillet; and low tailplane.

FLYING CONTROLS: Conventional and manual. Balanced ailerons with tab in starboard unit; single-piece elevator with large trim/anti-balance tab; full-height, balanced rudder. Plain flaps.

STRUCTURE: Generally of metal, with composites wingtips.

LANDING GEAR: Nosewheel type; fixed. Fuselage-mounted, cantilever spring mainwheel legs with hydraulic brakes; trailing link, castoring nosewheel on metal tube cantilever leg; all tyres 4.00-6.

POWER PLANT: One 73.5 kW (98.6 hp) Rotax 912 ULS flat-four driving a three-blade, carbon fibre, ground-adjustable pitch propeller as standard. Options include 89 kW (120 hp) Jabiru 3300 flat-six; and Woodcomp three-blade fixed-pitch wooden propeller, ground-adjustable, composites Sensenich two-blade and Sport Prop three-blade propellers and in-flight adjustable equivalents. Fuel in two wing tanks, combined capacity 114 litres (30.1 US gallons; 25.1 Imp gallons).

ACCOMMODATION: Two persons side by side beneath single-piece, forward-hinged canopy/windscreen; small side windows.

SYSTEMS: Electrical system; 12 V.

AVIONICS: Basic flight instruments standard. Communications and navigation options to customer’s requirements.
