Harbin Aircraft Manufacturing Co. was originally Manshu company formed by Japanese invaders 1938. Re-established from scratch from 1952, major assignments being production of H-5 (Il-28), Y-11 and -12 light transports, Z-5 (Mi-4, 545 built), SH-5 amphibian and Z-9A (Dauphin). Makes parts for BAe 146, Dauphin and Shorts 360. See also HAI.
