Industria Aeronáutica was manufacturing organization set up near Santiago 1980 by FAdeC (Chilean air force) with collaboration of Piper. Manufacture began at once on assembling 27 PA-28 Dakota, together with design of T-35 Pillán aerobatic/instrument trainer, using Piper parts where possible. First prototype flown by Piper in US 6 March 1981. Bigger challenge was assembly and manufacture under CASA licence of T-36 Halcón (C-101) jet trainer and to develop A-36 attack version. T-36 deliveries began 1983. In 1984 IndAer became ENAER.
