TYPE: Twin-jet freighter.
PROGRAMME: Revealed (as model) at Airshow China, Zhuhai, November 2004, though few details provided. Reportedly in 50-passenger/20-tonne gross weight size class and prospective short/medium-range successor to abortive Y-7H; but described in one account as “destined for training of crews and for experimentations”.
DESIGN FEATURES: High-mounted, sweptback (supercritical ?) wings with underwing podded engines; circular-section fuselage; T tail.
LANDING GEAR: Tricycle type; retractable (main gear into fuselage-side bulges). Twin wheels on each unit.
