FFA

In 1948 AG für Dornier Flugzeuge, Altenrhein, became entirely Swiss FFA (Flug- und Fahrzeugwerke AG). Operated unchanged until in January 1987 aviation activity sold to Justus Dornier group, Zürich, name becoming FFA Flugzeugwerke AG. Developed Morane-Saulnier derived fighters until D-3803 (1946), when P-51 chosen instead. In 1948 Flugwaffe requirement for jet attack fighter resulted in P-16 (25 April 1955) but project cancelled 1958 (see SAAC). Participated in licence production of Vampire, Venom, Pilatus P-3, Mirage III and F-5E/F. Following agreement with SIAI-Marchetti 1967 FFA build 34 AS 202/15 and 180 AS 202/18 Bravo trainers. FFA-2000 trainer has been transferred to Justus Dornier’s FFT.
