DESIGN FEATURES: Based on fuselage of Piper Pacer, but 10 cm (4 in) wider (1.07 m; 3 ft 6 in) at the cockpit and with wing pickups raised 8.5 cm (3⅗ in) to give additional headroom for occupants and allow use of Piper Super Cub V-struts for extended Cub wings with longer flaps (2.03 m; 6 ft 8 in) and ailerons (2.90 m; 9 ft 6 in) and 6061-T6 metal main spar. Landing gear and empennage from Super Cub. Stronger structure for increased MTOW includes lower longerons of increased gauge.
FLYING CONTROLS: Conventional and manual.
STRUCTURE: Welded steel tube fuselage with metal floor; wing of stamped aluminium ribs mounted on metal spar with sheet aluminium leading-edge; both with fabric covering.
LANDING GEAR: Tailwheel type; fixed. Two faired-in side Vs hinged to lower longerons, each with bungee cord shock absorber attached to compression frame.
POWER PLANT: One piston engine. Textron Lycoming O-540 of 194 kW (260 hp) in prototype; 224 kW (300 hp) Teledyne Continental IO-550, 265 kW (355 hp) VOKBM M-14 radial and Innodyn turboprop also specified by individual customers.
Standard fuel capacity 182 litres (48.0 US gallons; 40.0 Imp gallons) in inboard wing tanks and two 38 litre (10.0 US gallon; 8.3 Imp gallon) fuselage tanks; optional outboard wing tanks with additional total of 136 litres (36.0 US gallons; 30.0 Imp gallons).
ACCOMMODATION: Four adults with option for two additional children in place of baggage.
