Formed in November 2004 as Eviation Jets do Brasil Engenharia de Aeronaves Ltda. In mid-2005, the company changed its name to Eviation Jets do Brasil Indústria Aeronáutica Ltda to reflect aircraft manufacturing intentions. Work began in January 2005 to re-engineer Visionaire VA-10 Vantage as Eviation EV-20 Vantage for Eviation Jets at Ames, Iowa, US, involving considerable changes to wing, engine position, fuselage structure and empennage. New configuration frozen mid-2005; currently in detail design phase. EV-20 prototype had been due to fly in mid-2006; certification due late 2007 after 1,200 hours by prototype, plus static test and fatigue airframes. Production aircraft will be built in Brazil in location yet to be defined; marketing by Eviation Jets at Ames.
