TYPE: Tandem-seat sportplane kitbuilt.

PROGRAMME: Developed from previous, unbuilt, design; unflown airframe, based on components from first two aircraft, exhibited at Aero '99 at Friedrichshafen in April 1999; prototype completed by early 2001 and painted with spurious registration OE-VPP for Aero '01; first flight repeatedly postponed and had not been achieved by May 2003, although company expected it to happen before year end. However, Tornado was not promoted at Aero '03.

DESIGN FEATURES: Unswept wing with wingtip pods housing landing lights; cheek engine air intakes aft of cabin; pusher propeller mounted at mid-fuselage, rotating within a triangular-shaped cutout.

FLYING CONTROLS: Conventional and mechanical. Trim tab in starboard elevator; horn-balanced rudder; two-section Fowler-type flaps.

STRUCTURE: Primarily composites, with welded steel tube fuselage frame and alloy control surfaces.

LANDING GEAR: Retractable tricycle type; mainwheels retract inwards, nosewheel forwards.

POWER PLANT: One 147 kW (197 hp) Porsche 911 Carrera aircooled flat-four, driving a mid-mounted HB five-blade, constant-speed pusher propeller at up to 2,000 rpm, via an extension shaft.

ACCOMMODATION: Two in tandem under one-piece sideways-opening canopy with fixed windscreen.
