PROGRAMME: Stretched development of Jabiru Jabiru. Prototype (19-3512), in ultralight configuration, first flew 16 March 2001. Maiden flight of first customer-built J200, 13 December 2001.
CURRENT VERSIONS: J200: Two-seat ultralight with same dimensions as J400. 200A has maximum allowable T-O weight; 200B limited to 544 kg (1,200 lb) to meet AUF ultralight rules.
J250: Announced at Sun 'n' Fun, April 2002; meets FAA LSA kitbuilt rules. Wing span increased 1.65 m (5 ft 5 in) to 9.75 m (32 ft 0 in) and area 3.89 m² (41.9 sq ft) to 11.89 m² (128.0 sq ft) to meet stall requirements of 44 kt (82 km/h; 51 mph) 'clean' and 39 kt (73 km/h; 45 mph] flaps down. Empty weight 326 kg (720 lb); MTOW 559 kg (1 232 lb).
J400: Four-seat lightplane.
CUSTOMERS : 98 kits sold by April 2003. including exports to New Zealand, South Africa and the United States.
COSTS : Kit US$24,500 without engine; US$35,300 with engine (2002).
