Established Cordoba 1927, built foreign designs until from 1932 produced original series of trainers, tourers and AeM.T-1 5-seat transport. Became IA in 1946, but reverted to original name 1 July 1956, became DINFIA 1957 and again reverted to FMA 1968. Most important recent projects IA.58 Pucará and IA 63 Pampa jet trainer, plus 33% share of Embraer CBA-123. Reorganization 1988 failed, but privatized April 1992 with 30% holding by FAA (air force).
