HONDA R&D AMERICAS INC

Honda's first business jet was the MH02, designed and built in the late 1980s/early 1990s with the aid of Mississippi State University. This aircraft (N3079N) first flew on 5 March 1993, but the programme lapsed some three years later without entering production.
More recently, Honda R&D has developed a successor, known simply as the HondaJet, together with HF-118 engines which power it. This took place at a 2,787 m² (30,000 sq ft) facility on the Greensboro leasehold site of Atlantic Aero Inc, with whom Honda R&D teamed in 2000. The HondaJet prototype flew in December 2003.
