MAVERICK

MAVERICK JETS INC

The Maverick Air company moved into new premises in May 1998 and immediately began manufacture of the first Twinjet. In early 2001, Colorado businessman Jim McCotter acquired a majority share in Maverick Air Inc, renaming it Maverick Jets, and announced plans to establish a new company, known as McCotter Aviation, to develop a six-seat, factory-built, FAA-certified version of the Leader, designated MC2400. Development has been delayed by loss of the prototype.
In 2006, Maverick launched a new version of Leader, known as SmartJet; and single-engine variant confusingly labelled Leader 2.
