AVID AIRCRAFT INC
Avid Aircraft was formed in 1983 by Dean Wilson and currently markets the Avid Flyer Mark IV, Catalina, Bandit, Magnum and Buzz. Avid Flyer also assembled in Europe by Yalo of Czech Republic. In May 1999, the company was sold to Jim and Kim Tomash who restarted production in Ennis, Montana. The Avid Champion has been discontinued as the weight could not be kept low enough for FAR Pt 103. In November 2003 it was reported that Avid had closed its factory with the intention of relocating to the mid-west of the United States.
