PROGRAMME: Feasibility studies, continuing in 2003, are intended for market slot between current regional jets and larger, single-aisle jets. JADC is responsible for establishing configuration and structural parameters. Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry has set up working group (Aircraft Development Promotion Council) to consider possibility of linking YSX with Kawasaki C-X programme, although Kawasaki not bidding separately to take part in YSX. Mitsubishi expected to be prime contractor, with Fuji taking second largest share.

CURRENT VERSIONS: Possibility of a family of 100-passenger class aircraft.
