TURBOMECA is a major designer and producer of small and medium gas turbines for helicopters and jet trainers. TURBOMECA was the first manufacturer in the world to mass-produce a helicopter turbine, the ARTOUSTE, in 1955. RTM 322. TURBOMECA has also co-developed and co-produced its ADOUR and LARZAC jet engines, which are constantly upgraded to fit mew aircraft requirements. TURBOMECA engines are fitted worldwide on the cells of the most prestigious aircraft makers. In Russia, TURBOMECA cooperates with MAPO-MIG and the LARZAC powers the MIG-AT. The turnover of TURBOMECA and its subsidiaries amounted to 445 million Euros in 1998 and the staff is 3460 persons.
