ROBIN AVIATION

Formed October 1957 as Centre Est Aéronautique; name changed to Avions Pierre Robin 1969; acquired July 1988 by Compagnie Française Chaufour Investissement (CFCI) and incorporated into Aeronautique Service group (now Apex International) with Robin SA (after-sales support company of Dijon Val-Suzon); Pierre Robin left company 1990. Total of 3,700 aircraft produced by early 2002 (excluding 35 Sperwer UAVs). Factory area (Constructions Aéronautiques de Bourgogne) 9,000 m² (96,875 sq ft); workforce 100.
Former Robin subdivisions, Constructions Aéronautiques de Bourgogne and Aeronautique Finance et Services, are now separate companies. The first-mentioned is responsible for the construction of Robin aircraft, as explained in the entry for Aéronautique Service.
Latest addition to Robin range is R 2120 Alpha trainer, introduced 2001.
Robin's parent company, Apex International, entered voluntary receivership on 10 September 2002, pending a restructuring of its finances.
